Simple summary of the flow of events following the death

1. Immediately following the death
   • Death confirmed by a professional
   • Deceased is moved to a mortuary or Funeral Director
2. Doctor issues a Medical Certificate or death is reported to coroner
   • This is dependent on circumstances of the death
3. Register the death
   • You need to do this to collect the documents needed to arrange the funeral
4. Locate the Will (if there is one) as this may well contain funeral wishes
5. Arrange the funeral
6. Find out who should take the legal responsibility for dealing with the estate of the deceased
